Author Jack Davis, '85 & MA '89, wins prestigious literary award
Jack E. Davis, Political Science '85 and MA History '89 USFSP, has won the 2017 Kirkus Prize for nonfiction, a $50,000 award, for The Gulf: The Making of an American Sea. Davis will be a featured speaker at the Nov. 11 Festival of Reading at USF St. Petersburg.

NEWgenerator waste-to-energy invention wins $1.14 million grant
NEWgenerator, a waste-to-energy device that addresses sanitation, water and energy needs in impoverished parts of the world, was awarded a $1.14 million grant by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. The device was developed by USF engineering professor Daniel Yeh and a team of graduate students.
