In 1971, 25 men and women made history as the first class of medical students at the University of South Florida. They were pioneers in a new era of medical education, research and health care in the Tampa Bay area and beyond. As the college celebrates its 50th anniversary in 2024, it also honors its charter class, who paved the way for its success and excellence.

USF Football Dominates Syracuse, 45-0, In Boca Raton Bowl Victory.
The USF football team put an exclamation mark on a memorable first season under first-year head coach Alex Golesh as the Bulls rolled to a 45-0 victory over Syracuse (6-7) in the Boca Raton Bowl in front of a vocal throng of Bulls fans and a national television audience on ESPN.
USF releases first renderings of new on-campus stadium, announces $6 million gift
“Since we first announced plans to build an on-campus stadium at the University of South Florida, it has become the topic I hear about most often from our passionate supporters. There is a genuine excitement within our community,” USF President Rhea Law said. “We’re thrilled to offer the first images of the stadium that will activate our campus in ways we never have before and will make a positive impact on our university for generations to come.”
USF Football to make 11th bowl appearance in Boca Raton Bowl vs. Syracuse
First-year head coach Alex Golesh and the Bulls will continue one of the top turnarounds in college football when USF makes its first bowl appearance since 2018 on Dec. 21 at FAU Stadium in Boca Raton.
